Berberine Intrinsic is an elegantly crafted formula containing the FOUR most prominent berberine-containing plants plus synergistic herbs to expand its causal chain, targeting the spleen and liver.*
Berberine has liver and intestine cleansing properties, which assist with immuno-stimulation via increased blood flow to the spleen. The ability of berberine to activate macrophages has been acknowledged extensively. The function of increasing immuno-stimulation may alleviate viral and bacterial patterns such as herpes and urinary tract infections and reduce stress on the body’s systems. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) employs berberines in treating damp-heat syndromes, particularly in intestinal diseases such as Crohn’s. Reports have also shown beneficial effects on refractory steroid-dependent and steroid-resistant ulcerative colitis in humans. It is documented that berberines may play an essential role in the mucosal healing process and reduction of interleukin-8 (IL-8).
TCM’s researched inclusion of Huang bai and (decaffeinated) Green Tea has been shown to have anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, anti-ulcer, and immuno-modulatory properties. They stimulate the liver to cleanse the blood more efficiently, aid in the reduction of chronic skin conditions, and protect the liver and adjoining organs.
Berberines decrease insulin resistance, making the blood sugar-lowering hormone insulin more effective; increase glycolysis, helping the body break down sugars inside cells; decrease sugar production in the liver; slow the breakdown of carbohydrates in the gut; modulate the gut microbiota to increase the number of beneficial bacteria in the gut; reduces intestinal absorption of glucose, and regulates lipid metabolism.
Over the centuries, research on berberines indicates that they may have high activity against infection by parasites, bacteria, viruses, mold, fungi, Candida, and yeast. In recent years, some research has been suggesting it may have value regarding MRSA infection.
